Faith-based schools offer an education based on religious values such as Catholic, Christian, Islamic, or Jewish. Religious schools offer some unique benefits with good results. For example, research has shown that a Catholic education offers great benefits when it comes to values, academic outcomes, and cost.

There are over 50 religious schools in the Boston area to choose from, and many schools are are also open to students of other religions.

Many parents choose to send their children to a faith-based school because they prefer the values taught, compared to a public or independent school setting. Uniforms may not be very popular with students, but studies have found some major benefits of school uniforms, including fewer discipline issues and fewer incidences of bullying.

Academic Excellence
Faith-based schools are known for their emphasis on academic excellence. For example, data shows that Catholic schools have a higher rate of high school graduation for minority students compared to other schools. According to the US Department of Education, 62% of Catholic school students will earn a bachelor’s degree, compared to 31% of public school graduates.

Cost
Faith-based school tuition is generally much lower than that of other private schools.
