Saint John Paul II School is a Catholic academy with three campuses in the Dorchester and Mattapan neighborhoods of Boston. It offers a strong education rooted in the Catholic faith.

Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy encourages students to grow in faith and knowledge in a safe,nurturing, structured, and culturally diverse environment. Our challenging and rich academic and fine arts curriculum helps our students develop the essential skills to become productive, responsible global citizens and positive young men and women who possess a love of God, of learning, and of service to others.

Academics
The school offers a strong education as well as Catholic faith formation. The curriculum promotes reading, writing, and critical thinking across all subject areas. It strives to establish a solid foundation in literacy and mathematics skills while fostering creative and analytical thinking abilities among students.
The school offers a range of electives, including instruction in music, the arts, and physical education. The campuses feature science labs, computers in every classroom, music, art, and media rooms, gymnasiums, and cafeterias.


Arts Program
The Academy offers a strong arts program with instruction in music, theater, and art. The performing arts curriculum offers music classes for all students, including voice, percussion, bells, tin whistle, glockenspiel, violin, music history, genres, and contemporary music. Children in the early childhood program also learn about musical theater. Weekly art classes are offered for students in grades K–8, with a strong focus on shapes, colors, art forms, portraits, landscapes, and arts and crafts.
There are a number of performance opportunities for students in monthly liturgies, annual spring and Christmas shows, and special events throughout the year.
