The Manville School is a therapeutic day school located in Boston. The Manville School provides students and parents with evidence-based services and support to promote healthy development and educational success for students who experience emotional, neurological, or learning difficulties. The school provides a special educational setting with structured classrooms staffed by special education teachers, assistant teachers, and milieu counselors. Fully integrated clinical services with individual, group, and family therapy are also available.
Academics
The school has a research-based, innovative curriculum with highly individualized instruction aligned with Massachusetts Common Core State Standards. It consists of the following major elements:

English Language Arts integrates the study of phonetic instruction, oral language, literature, writing, and research.

Admission
Manville School admits children aged 5–15 who have emotional, behavioral, neurological, or learning disabilities. Prospective students must be approved by their local school district for a private day school placement. All Manville students are funded through their local school systems.
Clinical and Family Services
The school provides a whole range of services to its students and parents, including therapy, nursing support, and mentoring.
Therapy services are available as individual and group therapy, as well as family therapy, through the school’s staff of psychologists, social workers, and graduate student clinicians.
Psychiatric and nursing services are provided by highly trained medical staff specializing in child and adolescent mental health care.
A unique mentoring program is available, similar to the big brother/big sister volunteer program, pairing Harvard Medical and Harvard School of Education students with students at the Manville School.
