The Frances Jacobson Early Childhood Centre (FJECC) is a Jewish preschool located in the Longwood neighbourhood of Boston. It serves students from the age of 3 to kindergarten, and the school is associated with the Temple of Israel. Its mission is to provide the highest quality early childhood education in both secular and Judaic studies. The school has been recognised as one of "The Hub’s Top Preschools" by Boston Magazine.

School’s Mission Statement
The FJECC is committed to providing the highest quality early childhood education in both secular and Judaic studies in a safe, nurturing, and non-pressured environment under the guidance of well-trained and highly educated teachers. One of our primary goals is to meet the diverse needs of each child by paying close attention to his or her developmental needs, interests, and strengths, where a curiosity for and love of learning are fostered. Our philosophy is rooted in the need to foster respect for one another, individual dignity, and self-worth. We support the integration of our parent body into all aspects of the school, providing opportunities for them to serve as our close partners.

Academics
The school’s approach is rooted in the developmental model of education, based on the research of Piaget. It focuses on the whole child in all areas of development: social, emotional, moral, physical, cognitive, creative, and Judaic. As a result, close attention is given to the children’s developmental level, interests, and strengths, and each student is allowed to become proficient in many areas at their own pace.

The school integrates STEM learning (science, technology, engineering, and math) with other subjects such as nature education, organic gardening, and the arts. Jewish traditions, values, and rituals are part of the curriculum. While temple members are given enrollment priority, the school welcomes all denominations.

After-School Activities
The school offers an afternoon extended day programme, and parents can choose from specifically focused activities such as temple, the science of music, and active games.
