Fontbonne Academy, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, is a Catholic, college preparatory high school for young women. Fontbonne Academy fosters gospel values and educational excellence. This inclusive community embraces diversity in many forms. Through the values of respect, responsibility, reconciliation, and reverence, Fontbonne Academy promotes the growth in spirituality, scholarship, and leadership of young women in the changing world.


Academics

The Academy offers a rigorous college preparatory program with a 100% acceptance rate into four-year colleges. It strives for a caring atmosphere, designed so that students can mature academically, spiritually, socially, physically, and emotionally. Although founded upon a Catholic spiritual tradition, the Academy welcomes students of all faiths.

The curriculum includes theology, English, mathematics, science, social studies, world languages, fine arts, physical education, and a library. Students are required to learn at least one of the three languages offered (French, Latin, or Spanish).


Arts
The school encourages creative and critical thinking skills and, to that end, offers a number of fine arts classes and many performance opportunities in the performing arts. This includes music lessons, courses in music composition and technology, an instrumental ensemble, a jazz choir, a select chorus, and a drama group.


After-School Activities
The school offers over 25 clubs and organizations, including anime, cooking, creative writing, French honor society, international culture, jubilee council, liturgical ministers, peer education, sewing, skiing, stem, and student council.


Athletics
The school offers over 12 varsity and junior varsity teams in a wide range of sports, including soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, cross country, basketball, ice hockey, track, softball, lacrosse, and tennis.
