Buckingham Browne & Nichols (BB&N) is a highly respected day school in Cambridge for pre-K through 12th grade. The school offers a rich and high-quality educational experience for students from a range of backgrounds and talents. Admission to the school is very selective with about an 18% acceptance rate.

The school admits a broad spectrum of students ranging from Elementary School to Middle School and High School. At BB&N these are called Lower School, Middle School and Upper School.

The Lower School focuses on Building Block fundamentals with emphasis on exploration and creativity. A strong and unique relationship between teacher and student encourages the students to take an active role in their own learning. Physical education programs promotes the development of fitness, coordination, and movement. The emphasis is on participation, fun and play.

The Middle School, grades 7 & 8, prepares and supports students in a period of great transition and emotional growth with a challenging curriculum and supportive co-curricular activities. The Middle School athletics program emphasizes the importance of physical fitness for all students, while expanding the opportunities they have for participation in competitive sports.

The Upper School creates a strong foundation of college-preparatory subjects with many curricular and co-curricular opportunities for exploring personal interests and passions. The Upper School athletics program offers a variety of programs with varsity, JV, and some "3rd" teams, plus classes on health and fitness, strength and conditioning.

International students are welcomed at the school and well represented by many students and families from all over the world.
